Mango Strawberry Apple-Smoothie Recipe

I created another yummiful smoothie recipe yesterday.  Here tis

  • 8 to 12 ounces of yogurt or kefir
  • 1/4 to a 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 to a 1/2 cup of frozen mango
  • about an 1/8 cup of apple juice
  • 1 medium banana

And smoosh.  Add an egg yolk for protein if you have access to safe eggs (i.e. ones in your backyard or a local farm with clean conditions).

Smoothie Recipe

I made a smoothie this morning that was to die for, so I thought I’d share it with ya’ll. I used kefir (surprise, surprise), but you could use plain, unsweetened yogurt thinned with some milk, or if you want it thicker, just yogurt.  This is surprisingly sweet given that there’s no extra sugar added, just what’s in all the fruit and the juice.

8 ounces of kefir (or a total of 8 ounces of yogurt thinned with milk, about 6 and 2 or 5 and 3)

4-5 large strawberries, frozen

handful of blueberries, frozen

Most of a banana

1/2 teaspoon of real vanilla extract

3-4 tablespoons of orange juice

And smoosh!
